Just want your opinion so I don't go down the wrong path. Short story is I want to be a tattoo artist. I understand I need a portfolio to try and get an apprenticeship.I do almost all my drawings digitally by photoshopping a ton of cool stuff, stenciling it and drawing it both digitally and on paper. For some reason I'm just really able to get stuff out of my head onto a digital paper better than real paper. It ends up on real paper after stenciling it and all that stuff and looks cool though.2 questions - A.) If I had a portfolio with most of my drawings, albeit original, but done on a digital surface using all these tools, would I have any chance at an apprenticeship? If drawing straight pencil to paper is what I need to do then I will do whatever it takes.B.) Is this cheating? I've heard from a few artists that I've been tattooed by that they know guys who can't draw on paper for shit but can follow a stencil like a motherfucker. Albeit they are already established artists and don't really need to prove themselves to get in the industry i guess, but still.Just wanted some insight on this and thanks for any help via /r/tattoos https://ift.tt/2FrJozB
